Welcome once again to our monthly Newsletter!
This month we've been updating resources and articles available for help and support, there have been some considerable additions to our Resources section, so much so that this will be undergoing a make-over later this month making searching for specific topics much easier.
Since our last newsletter we have added several new articles including a recent piece by Saint John Walker (Newly appointed Skillset Computer Games, Animation and Facilities Sector Manager) first published in the Jan/Feb addition of Imagine magazine on the perceived rise and domination of 3D CGI Animation.
The edited version of Rick Villeneuve’s talk (A career in Animation) from last month is now available to view along with an accompanying article.
This month has started with a visit from Emily Corcoran (experienced filmmaker, actress and project consultant) to give a talk on micro budget film making. The advice that Emily gave applies to most genres and processes including animation. Emily’s talk and a further article based on the information contained within that talk will be available online to Animation East members in the next few weeks.
Forthcoming event:
British Board of Film Classification; Computer Games and Animation
Thursday 19th March 2009; 2-5pm Norwich University College of the Arts
How and why do films get a certain classification? Besides traditional film genres John Wagland (ex game designer and now BBFC examiner) will also be exploring the issues that the BBFC face when classifying the areas of animation and video games. John will use various clips to illustrate and contextualise the decision making procedure and demystify the guidelines of this essential process.
