FREELANCE CONTRACT: ANIMATION ASSISTANT
30-40 day contract Budget = £2,700 - £3,600.Electric Egg are looking for a freelance animation assistant to work on an issue-based animated documentary. The project in question will require the successful applicant to provide their services for approximately 40 days of their time as an Animation Assistant.The role of the Animation Assistant is to assist the animation director during production and pre-production in the generation of ideas, creation of the storyboard and animatic. The Animation Assistant will also be called upon to ‘inbetween’ animation created by the animation director and potentially to create some final animation to be used in the final film.The successful applicant must possess the following skills and attributes:
Creative thinking & problem solving.
Idea generation.
Accomplished drawing skills.
Storyboarding.
Adobe Photoshop skills.
2D animation skills.
Competence with drawing with a graphics tablet or ‘Wacom’.
Working knowledge of Adobe Flash.
Digital editing skills.
Passion for animation and storytelling.
Self motivation.
Punctuality.
Previous experience of working on an animated film or short (be that a student or professional production).
Good organisational skills.The following skills and attributes are desirable:
Digital video camera operation.
Video & Sound editing.
Be familiar and competent with Adobe After Effects.
Professional experience.The project deadline is April 2010 and the successful applicant will be required to work at Electric Egg’s Lincoln studio for the duration of the contract on dates during January, February and March.
