Whats On at Norwich Puppet Theatre?

Kids don't have all the fun at the Puppet Theatre as on 22nd November it is a chance for the adults to get creative with strings and make a marionette (or string puppet). This all day session costs £30 and with all materials provided you start at 10.30am with an idea and end at 4pm with a finished puppet. The theme of marionette is by popular request of previous workshop attendees so to be sure of a place book soon!

Comica 2008 at the ICA

London's comics festival is back at the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) for two weeks, with talks and appearances from Art Spiegelman, Paul Gambaccini, Gilbert Shelton, Ian Rankin, Dave McKean, Alex Maleev, and more. Plus exhibitions, the return of the Comica Comiket, and special film previews.

Countdown to Aurora 12-16 November 2008

This years festival theme 'The Infinite Measure' explores both physical and philosophical measures, looking at uncertainty and impermanence, divisions of time and the moment in the moving image.  If you have no idea what to expect or where to start, there will be two special Free Festival Highlight screenings on Wednesday 12th November at 19.00 or 21.00 at Cinema City Screen 3.

Flip 08 Launch

This evening event, run in conjunction with Creative Networks, will welcome Camilla Deakin, Executive Producer of 4mations, Channel 4’s new video-sharing site aimed at bringing together the best animation from around the world.

The AnimateTV films premiere at Aurora Festival in Norwich, on Friday 14 November, with all the artists present for a Q&A with festival director Adam Pugh.

SAND 2008- 9th International Animation, Games and SFX Conference

SAND welcomes all; filmakers, games developers, animators and professionals involved in digital visualization and interactive media, including students wishing to join the industry. SAND runs from Monday 24th-Friday 28th November 2008 and has five themed days ranging from business through to interative, games, film, TV and SFX.

RTÉ Announces New Commission for web-based series

StoryLand invites new and experienced drama production teams to pitch for a truly creative 6-part drama series to be webcast in March 2009. Pilot first episodes of up to ten new drama series will be commissioned by RTÉ and the audience will decide, by voting on-line, which six will get to make a second episode. The second episodes will again be voted on by the audience and four series will get to make a 3rd episode and so on until only one series gets to make all 6 episodes.
