Cartoons -The international Journal of Animation Published by John Libbey in association with ASIFA, this publication is a scholarly journal containing in-depth articles, commentary and analysis as well as profiles of animators and animation schools, practical and technical discussion and articles about the business of animation. Including reviews, round-ups and forthcoming events.

Animation: An Interdisciplinary Journal -  provides the first cohesive international refereed publishing platform for animation that unites contributions from a wide range of research agendas and creative practice. The journal's scope is very comprehensive, yet its focus is clear and simple. The journal addresses all animation made using all known (and yet to be developed) techniques - from 16th century optical devices to contemporary digital media - revealing its implications on other forms of time-based media expression past, present and future.

Animate Projects Engine - Engine is a new online magazine from Animate Projects, launching in September 2009. Engine will be a space for debate and discussion across a broad range of moving image practice, and from a range of perspectives. Society for Animation Studies (SAS) - The Society for Animation Studies (SAS) is an international organization dedicated to the study of animation history and theory. It was founded by Dr. Harvey Deneroff in 1987. Each year, the SAS holds an annual conference at locations throughout the world, where members present their recent research.
